Create. Share. Connect.
A projector, a room and the chance to connect through art and conversation.
No juries. No winners. No perfection. This is not a pitch! Just sharing.
A POP-UP EVENT IN LONDON
How it works
Submissions
We don’t curate submissions. First-come, first-served slots.
Work-in-progress only (no finished films).
We’re here to be part of your process.
Audience
You don’t need to be a filmmaker to join us. If you love film and fancy being part of the discussion, just book a ticket.
Line-up
Each artist will have 15 to 30 minutes, depending on the number of the submissions and the needs of the works.
Whether it’s a rough cut, a piece of raw footage or any types of works in progress, we want to invite contributors to share, and we encourage interactive open conversation.
After the viewing, the room and floor is open!
For artists: This is a chance to share your work, and see how it resonates.
For audiences: This is a chance to engage with and maybe learn from the creative process.
Booking
We’ll share the links to book a screening slot and buy tickets when we announce the next event. In the meantime, keep an eye on our What’s On page.

It’s not all red carpets. Filmmaking can be solitary, and it isn’t always romantic.
You are often creating in a bubble, unsure how the work is going to land, wondering if it will ever be seen or understood. And when it comes to sharing, the spaces that exist; festivals, labs, panels are often build around pressure: to perform, to pitch, to polish.
The industry sets a fast pace, and you’re expected to keep up. You’re told what’s “urgent”, what’s “promising”, what’s “market-ready”, in other words, what’s trending!
And if your work doesn’t fit, or it needs time, or it’s simply honest in a different way, the silence can be hard to sit with.
This Is Not A Screening! is a space where artists can breathe.
It’s not a replacement for the industry and it’s norms… think of it as a pause.
